Beyond The Crisis – Beginning of a New Chapter
Hello and Welcome!!
Today is a special day not just because I’m celebrating my birthday, but it’s also special because it is the official launch of a dream I’ve nurtured for years: Beyond the Crisis.
For my birthday this year, I wanted to celebrate not just my life as a warrior but to launch a platform dedicated to life itself. Especially for fellow warriors living with sickle cell, caregivers and everyone who wants to understand us better.
Why Beyond the Crisis?
For most of us in Nigeria, living with sickle cell is a journey filled with its own unique challenges, wins, losses, questions, and above all, resilience. As a Pharmacist and sickle cell warrior, I’ve experienced so much of this first hand and I’ve learned that our stories, the ones we hide, the ones we carry in silence can actually be someone else’s survival guide.
To me, Beyond the Crisis is more than just a blog. It’s for that warrior who reaches out at night to understand why he is having an intense crisis even after doing “everything right”, it’s for that mother that calls and wants to know why her six year old started having a crisis barely 30 minutes after playing with friends. And Its for that family member or friend who wants to learn more so they can help in an emergency.
Beyond the crisis is a safe space, a learning platform, a place where real stories, medical guidance, daily hacks and hope come together. It’s for warriors, caregivers, advocates, friends and families who walk this journey too.
Whether you’re living with sickle cell, caring for someone who is or you just want to learn more, you’re welcome here.
I invite you to explore my ebook Understanding the Basics of Sickle Cell
